Premium Support

VMP Security Premium

VMP Security Premium is the paid tier of the plugin. It unlocks features that are not available on the free version and changes the firewall and scanner from delayed-delivery to real-time. For sites where time-to-protection matters — production sites, ecommerce, anything handling customer data — Premium is the recommended baseline.

Real-time protection

Premium customers receive new firewall rules and new malware signatures the moment our threat research team publishes them. When attackers begin exploiting a newly-disclosed vulnerability, the rule that catches them is on your site within minutes; with the free version, the same rule arrives later.

This is the single biggest practical difference between Free and Premium. For sites that have time to wait, Free is fine. For sites where the gap between “exploit observed” and “your site is protected” matters, Premium closes that gap.

Country Blocking

Country Blocking is included in the free version of VMP Security; you do not need Premium to use it. The Premium tier does not change the country-blocking feature set. See the Country Blocking article for configuration and tradeoffs.

Real-Time IP Blocklist

VMP Security Network is a network-effect defense: when an IP address is observed attacking any VMP-protected site, that IP is added to a live blocklist consumed by every Premium-licensed site. Premium customers therefore benefit from threat data observed across the entire VMP user base, not just on their own site.

Free users still receive automatic blocking of IPs engaged in brute-force attacks via the network. Premium adds blocking of IPs engaged in the broader range of attack types.

Premium support

Premium customers can open priority support tickets answered by senior engineers. Initial response times target one business day; complex issues that require investigation may take longer. Tickets are opened from your account dashboard or directly at the support URL listed in your account.

How many license keys do I need

Each WordPress installation requires its own license key. A multisite network counts as a single installation regardless of how many sites it hosts, so one license covers a multisite network.

One license cannot cover multiple separate installations. If you run several distinct WordPress sites, you need one license per site. The exception is staging or development copies of a production site — see the Staging section below.

Multi-license purchases receive a discount that scales with the total number of active licenses on your account. Current pricing tiers and discount thresholds are shown on the Pricing page; we update them periodically and the page is the authoritative source.

Installing a Premium license key

  1. Sign in to your account at vmpsecurity.com and open the Licenses page.
  2. Copy the license key for the site you are upgrading.
  3. On your WordPress site, open VMP Security → All Options and find the License Management section.
  4. Paste the license key and save. Premium features become available immediately.

If your site is connected to VMP Security Portal, you can also install the license key from the Portal site detail page without signing in to the WordPress admin.

Renewals and refunds

Premium licenses are sold on an annual subscription basis. Auto-renewal is enabled by default and can be turned off from the Licenses page in your account. You are notified before each scheduled renewal so there are no surprise charges.

Refunds are available for a limited window after a purchase or renewal — the current refund policy is on our Terms page. If you are unsure which policy applies to your purchase, contact customer support.

Staging and development sites

A Premium license assigned to a production site can also be used on a corresponding staging or development copy at no additional cost. Common staging subdomains (staging., stage., dev., test., local., and similar) are recognized automatically. If your staging site uses a non-standard URL, customer support can add it to the recognized-staging list for your license.

This convenience is intended for one-to-one staging copies of an existing production site, not for protecting independent sites. For a separately-managed site, buy a separate license.

Frequently Asked Questions

Move a Premium license to a different site

From the Licenses page in your account, click Reset on the license, which unassigns it from the current site. You can then install it on a different site. Reset is intended for occasional moves, not for rotating a single license between many sites.

Downgrade to Free without uninstalling

From VMP Security → All Options, clear the License Key in the License Management section. The Premium features turn off immediately and the site reverts to the free tier. Remember to disable auto-renewal on the Premium license in your account if you do not plan to use it again.

What is a license key?

A license key is the credential that authorizes Premium features on your VMP Security installation. The plugin works on the free tier without any key. Premium keys are issued when you purchase a Premium subscription and are entered manually on your site.

What payment methods do you accept?

Major credit and debit cards, common digital wallets, and PayPal. Wire transfer is available on request for purchase orders by emailing billing.

Do you offer phone support?

No. Premium support is delivered through the ticketing system. Most tickets receive an initial response within a business day; urgent matters can be escalated.
