Tools

The Tools page collects the day-to-day investigative and maintenance utilities into a single tabbed interface. From VMP Security → Tools, switch between tabs to access:

In This Article

Live Traffic

A real-time view of recent visits and security events on your site. Each entry shows the IP, country, request URL, and the action taken (allowed, blocked, throttled). Use Live Traffic to investigate a specific block, find a request to allowlist, or watch what an in-progress attacker is doing.

Audit Log

The same Audit Log that has its own top-level menu item is also embedded here as a Tools tab for convenience. Records security and administrative events with timestamps, actor, and IP.

Whois Lookup

Look up registrant details for any IP address or domain directly from the WordPress admin, without leaving the page or pasting addresses into external tools.

Import/Export Options

Back up the plugin’s configuration to a JSON file and restore it elsewhere. Useful when reinstalling, migrating to a new host, or copying a known-good security configuration to a new site.

Diagnostics

A read-only summary of the plugin and host environment: WordPress and PHP versions, database tables and row counts, file permissions, scheduled cron events, and outbound connectivity to the VMP Security API. The right place to start when something is not working.

Two-Factor Authentication settings live on the dedicated Login Security menu, not on the Tools page.

WHOIS Lookup

Look up the registered owner and ISP for an IP address or domain.

Import/Export

Export your VMP Security configuration and re-import it on another site or after a reinstall.

Diagnostics

Inspect your installation and server configuration to help diagnose issues.
